Virtual Listening Session

We think it’s high time for private sector citizens who are footing the bill for massive government spending programs to have a voice in the legislative process.  Most private sector citizens were too busy running businesses, working jobs or raising families to attend one of the “Misery Tour” stops. Some did take the time to attend only to find that they were passed-over in favor of government employee testimony. In response, we launched a “Virtual Listening Session.” We invited everyday Minnesotans working in the private sector to submit their feedback regarding state spending.

Last year, we had a toll-free number to call and record a message which was put on a CD and delivered to state legislators.

Messages from taxpayers filled six 80-minute audio CDs, which were delivered to every state representative and senator, one disk a week for six consecutive weeks.

That program has ended, but you can still sound off.

Visit our YouTube group to submit a video message.

Here are the ground rules for participating in the “Virtual Listening Session”:

  • You must be a private sector citizen  (you cannot work for the government or be employed by an agency that receives government funding)
  • Your message must be no longer than two minutes in length.
  • You must begin your message by stating your full name, your home town and your employer.
  • No offensive language will be allowed.

You may want to review our Budget Facts Sheet prior to recording your message.
